An introduction to power chords: What is it, how does it sound, how to play?

What is it?

Power chords are often played in rock music. Usually they are played with a lot of distortion. They sound fat, mean, great!!!

Actually power chords are the smallest chords around. They consist of only 2 notes, played on 2 or 3 strings. For the music theorists around us: it's the first note and the fifth.

Power chords are most often played with a guitar pick.
